New Zealand driver Hunter Robb has headed to Australia to test a Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge car as he plans the next stage of his career.

The 17-year-old from Auckland had just finished the 2024 Elite Motorsport Academy week in Dunedin.

"The Elite Motorsport Academy was a great experience," Robb said.

He said the program focused on becoming a more complete driver, including areas away from the track such as nutrition, media, sponsorship and fitness. Robb said he planned to make changes as a result and had already started with his diet. He was looking forward to putting what he learned into practice at a race weekend.

Robb was due to test with Jones Motorsport at Queensland Raceway this Wednesday, under the guidance of Harri Jones. At the time, Jones was leading the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia series.

"I'm really looking forward to it," Robb said. He said he wanted to learn from Australian drivers and see where his speed stood.
