Harri Jones is a three-time Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia champion. The McElrea Racing driver sealed the 2026 title at the Gold Coast 500 with a round still to run, winning two of the weekend’s three races on the streets of Surfers Paradise.

Race one: a first Gold Coast win

Saturday’s race started after a rain delay. Jones got the jump on pole-sitter Tom Bewley through the opening corners and led the field away. A safety car soon bunched the pack after two cars spun in a puddle, but Jones controlled the restart and held on in a race shortened by a lap.

It was his first win on the Gold Coast streets. Bewley finished second, ahead of Clay Osborne, Aaron Love and Glen Wood.

Race two: the title is sealed

Heavy rain hit Surfers Paradise on Sunday. Jones started from pole, but Bewley took the lead on the opening lap. With only a handful of green-flag laps between safety car periods, the race was red-flagged and declared.

Bewley claimed his first Carrera Cup win, ahead of Jones and Love. Second place was enough: David Russell could no longer catch him, and Jones had the championship with a race and a round remaining.

Race three: finishing on top

Jones closed the weekend the way he started it, winning the final race ahead of Bewley and Love. The race was cut short and declared under the safety car after damage to the kerb at the beach chicane.

The title follows Jones’s championships in 2022 and 2024. The season wraps up at the Adelaide Grand Final from 26 to 29 November.
