Harri Jones is set for no ordinary race weekend, with the Queenslander making his Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup debut on the streets of Monaco.

The start of his Supercup campaign has been pushed back a week. Round 1 at Imola was cancelled the previous weekend, and Jones sent his thoughts to everyone affected by the disaster there.

That makes the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, the crown jewel of the calendar, his first Supercup start. Jones has watched the race every year, and the Supercup has always been part of the weekend.

"It's a privilege to be joining the grid this year," he said, adding that once the lights go out it will feel like any other race.

Monaco is gruelling and unforgiving, punishes every mistake and is one of the trickiest circuits in the world. Jones knows street circuits and their driving style well, and plans to build on that experience with full focus on getting the best result possible.

The Supercup is the pinnacle of Porsche one-make racing worldwide. All 28 drivers on the grid are seasoned professionals, and even the drivers ranked as rookies, Jones among them, have won multiple championships and races in their home countries.

Jones said that level of competition fuels him, and called on the team to "bring our A game!!"
