Two-time Porsche Carrera Cup Australia champion Harri Jones will return to McElrea Racing for the 2026 Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia season.
The move ends a one-year stint under his own Jones Motorsport banner, which Jones ran in 2025.
It is a homecoming for the Queenslander. Jones raced with McElrea Racing from 2019 to 2022, a period in which the pair won the 2019 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and the 2022 Carrera Cup Australia title.
Jones heads into 2026 with momentum after narrowly losing the 2025 Carrera Cup title to Dylan O'Keeffe, and with plenty of motivation to go one better.
"I'm extremely excited to be returning to McElrea Racing," Jones said, describing the team as one that has played a huge role in his career.
He said the reunion felt like the right move at the right time.
"We've achieved a lot together in the past," Jones said, adding that he was confident the team could be very competitive again in 2026.
Team principal Andy McElrea welcomed Jones back, pointing to their long relationship and shared goals.
"Harri is someone we know extremely well," McElrea said.
"We've won championships together, and his professionalism, work ethic, and outright speed speak for themselves."
McElrea said the team was pleased to have Jones back and was looking forward to building on a long-term partnership.
The 2026 Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia season starts at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on 5–8 March.
