Harri Jones had one of the busiest and most successful weekends of his season at The Bend Motorsport Park, winning the Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia round and starring in the wet at The Bend 500 on his Matt Stone Racing debut.

Carrera Cup: 31 wins and a round victory

Jones won Saturday's opening race of Round 4 from second on the grid. He went around the outside at Turn 1 to take the lead and had built a gap of about three seconds when the safety car was called at half distance, after Pro-Am leader Jacque Jarjo spun at Turn 5 and could not restart.

David Russell tried to out-brake Jones into Turn 1 at the restart but could not complete the move, and Jones went on to win by 2.8 seconds.

It was his fifth win of 2026 and the 31st of his career, drawing him level with Jim Richards for third on the all-time list of race wins in the championship.

Russell finished second ahead of Aaron Love and polesitter Tom Bewley, who had edged Jones in qualifying by just 0.0037 seconds, the third-tightest pole margin in championship history. McElrea team-mate Lachlan Bloxsom was fifth. Title rival Clay Osborne pitted at the end of the first lap with damage from a collision.

Sunday's 45-minute race was abandoned after heavy showers and a thunderstorm hit the circuit just before the start. The field ran behind the safety car before a red flag, and the race was declared a non-race, so race one decided the round points.

That gave Jones the round win, his 12th career round victory, ahead of Russell and Love.

Supercars: a charge through the spray

The same weekend Jones made his first start for Matt Stone Racing, sharing the #4 Chevrolet Camaro with Jack Le Brocq.

He started 15th but, after a tricky getaway, was 23rd into Turn 1. Within four laps he was back inside the top 10, and he was running fourth at one restart as the field battled through blinding spray. He fought with Tim Slade through the opening corners and got ahead of him into Turn 4.

Jones said the conditions were "pretty fun to be honest, those sorts of races are really enjoyable."

His preparation had been far from ideal. A brake failure cut short his running at the Queensland Raceway pre-enduro test, so he used a simulator at home and spent time with the engineers and mechanics at the factory. Jones called the weekend "pretty unbelievable" and said "you can't dwell on setbacks like that."

Le Brocq crossed the line 11th and the pair were classified 10th after James Golding was disqualified for not meeting the minimum driver laps.

Jones headed to Bathurst in October holding a 146-point Carrera Cup championship lead, with a Bathurst 1000 start alongside Le Brocq to come on the same weekend.
